Athena
Athena is a Red revolutionary in the Rim and the leader of the The Daughters. She built a hidden resistance network with help from Fitchner.
Through Aurae, Athena sends Sevro a message offering the resources Fitchner left for him in the Rim. Her forces later hold Darrow, Cassius and Diomedes on Europa. She accuses Darrow of abandoning the Rim Sons to Romulus and killing the workers at Ganymede's dockyards; Darrow pleads guilty.
Athena explains that, as a teenager, she took part in a mining uprising manipulated by the Krypteia. Fitchner later showed her how she had been used. After Sevro argues for Darrow, she agrees to work with him against Fá and opens the Deep's refuges to the people of the surface.
She demands that Diomedes make the abolition of the hierarchy his cause as a condition of their alliance. After Fá's defeat and Lysander's destruction of the Garter, she signs a covenant joining the Daughters, the Rim Dominion, the Republic and the Volk. Athena remains in the Rim while sending her fleet with Darrow.
