The Society
The Society governs humanity through a hereditary hierarchy of Colors, with Gold at the top. The Sovereign rules from Luna, supported by planetary governors, military officers and the The Olympic Knights.
Its power developed from Luna's position as a center for colonization. Luna's Gold-led rebellion against Earth became the The Conquering.
The defeat of Octavia's regime does not eliminate Gold opposition: the Rim negotiates independence, while the Ash Lord remains a military power.
