Razor

A morphing, whip-flexible blade of smart metal, which becomes rigid at the command of the wielder. It's carried by Golds as a mark of station; wielding it is a very difficult art and those who aren't Gold won't generally be given the option.

Darrow's own is curved like a slingBlade, crooked and cruel, and that is a political statement.

It is a polyenne blade: more than a metre of narrow sword when solid and over two metres of lashing whip when loosed, worn coiled round the forearm. Its edge can breach Society pulseShields. For any other Color to carry one is death, which is why arming Obsidians with them breaks Society law. Razors are personal: Cassius's is ebony and Leto's is rainbow.
