Mercury is the Gold Proctor of House Mercury during Darrow's Institute year. He favors drafting Darrow, but his House's patrons choose another candidate.
When Darrow attacks Olympus, Mercury fights Darrow's soldiers and Darrow breaks his arm. Mercury then prepares to duel Darrow, who instead stuns him with a pulseFist and has him bound.
At Asgard he poses as Loki, one of the Golds presented as gods to the Obsidian tribes. Virginia recognizes him after Darrow wounds him. He is captured, and the group uses his codes to enter Asgard's armory. Sefi then executes the captured Golds at the Spires.
